Sir Norman Foster, winner of the 21st Pritzker Architecture Prize, was born in Manchester. After he graduated from the School of Architecture and Town Planning at the University of Manchester in 1961, he won his Henry Fellowship at Yale University, and Jonathan Edwards earned a master’s degree in architecture as a Fellow of his College. .

He co-founded Team 4 in 1963 and founded Foster Associates (now Foster + Partners) in 1967. Founded in London and now a worldwide practice, the founder of the firm is one of the most renowned architects with projects in more than 20 countries and his offices.
